All Star Week at PokerStars

PokerStars are having a series of 35 heads-up matches pitting the Team PokerStars Pros vs. the All Star Challengers.

Additionally, they’re offering everyone the opportunity to vote for who they believe will win. Your vote costs 100 FPP, and it allows you entry to one of two “All Star Week Supporters Tournaments” freerolls, which will be played on April 5 at 4pm.

The way it works is as follows: You register for the team’s tournament who you think will win (i.e. – the All Star Challengers). For every heads up match they win during this All Star Week, PokerStars will add $1000 to the corresponding freeroll event. Simply put, they’re spreading $35,000 between the two tourneys!

Again, all it costs is 100 Frequent Player Points. You have until midnight on March 26th to “vote” in this event. If you don’t yet have the 100 FPP or are not yet a member of PokerStars, I suggest you get started by downloading and playing PokerStars here.

Freeroll talk

Well, the St Paddy’s Day Freeroll is now behind us.  45 players went down, and ipaparazzi was left standing when the smoke cleared.  Congratulations for winning the State of Poker St. Paddy’s Day Freeroll.  Also, congratulations are in order to BxymenaB, tv2idol, tfal987, and jenosz1000 — all of which finished “in the money.”  And thanks to everyone who turned out for the event.

Speaking of events, expect more freeroll tournaments, and buy-ins with money added in the very near future.  They will be State of Poker – Online Poker Circuit Events.  Be sure to  join the Online Poker Circuit, as most of the passwords will be released on the forum.

Thanks once again to Big Bet Poker for “putting us up.”  Also, not sure if anyone else noticed, but Big Bet slipped me $4 for the 4 leaf clover promotion – it was a nice touch!  I can see The State of Poker & The OPC continuing a relationship with Big Bet Poker for a long time to come.

Surely by now you’ve heard, I’m hosting a St. Paddy’s Day $100 freeroll at Big Bet Poker (Tuesday night 8pm).  You’ll need a password to enter the tournament.

The password can be found on the brand new Online Poker Circuit website.  You’ll have to join (no worries, it’s free to join).  Once you’ve registered, you will have access to the password in the forum.

Tournament talk

Congratulations goes out to MysticfireII (aka GaTechmom) for winning the inaugural State of Poker Freeroll.  Going into the final table, she was on the “lead lap” and didn’t let up.  xxFullFlushxx and GGJayeTee are also worthy of mention, as they finished “in the money.”

Thank you to everyone who participated in our first State of Poker Tournament.  Rest assured, there will be more to come.

Speaking of…  the next State of Poker Tournament will be on Tuesday March 17th at 8pm.  Again, it will be a freeroll tournament with 4000 starting chips, $100 in the prize pool, and held at Big Bet Poker.  The password for the tournament is checkrayz.  Download Big Bet Poker here to play in the State of Poker Freeroll.

Finally, I’ve been working on a project all weekend.  Sometime this week, I’ll be announcing and introducing said project.  I suspect it will be big (keep checking back).

The password for tonight’s reunion freeroll at poker4ever is reunion. The tournament can be found under the private tab.  It’s listed to begin at 8:30pm, which is really 9:30 eastern time.  Hope to see some familiar and new faces there!

State of Poker Freerolls Announced

To kick off and celebrate The State of Poker Blog, I\’ve arranged three free poker tournaments.  The details of the tournaments are as follows:

1.  Friday March 13 9:30pm Eastern – $35 freeroll at Poker4ever. 

2.  Sunday March 15 8pm Eastern – $100 State of Poker Freeroll at Big Bet Poker.

3.  Tuesdy March 17 8pm Eastern – $100 State of Poker Freeroll at Big Bet Poker.
