Minnesota online gambling accounts in jeopardy

Minnesota Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement Agency director John Williams is putting residents of the state of Minnesota “on notice” – claiming that “State residents with online escrow accounts should be aware that access to their accounts may be jeopardized and their funds in peril.”

Minnesota AGED recently sent a memo to Minnesota Internet Service Providers requiring them to block access to “illegal online gambling websites,” citing the Federal Wire Act of 1961.

The Poker Players Alliance has responded claiming they will do everything in their power to protect the game of poker in all forms in Minnesota, citing this is an effort to censor the internet in a manner similar to that which we see and expect out of China.

Both the AGED memo and PPA response can be viewed in their entirety via the Online Poker Circuit’s Minnesota Online Gambling Ban pages.
